Week 5: Artist Conversation: Jesse Lubben

This piece by Jesse Lubben was the only piece of work that caught my eye. The bright color as well as the 3-D illusion stuck out in my peripherals quite well. Apart from the color the piece reminded me of origami. That was, in fact, the first thing that came to mind. It had me remember all the times that I have made paper airplanes and experimented with different folds in order to make the airplane look different. Although, paper airplanes are not technically origami, it was just something that came up in my mind. Jesse mentioned that he has always loved art since he was a child. He loved to draw and he also loved to play with Lego’s. As he grew older, he became inspired by anthropologist, Loren Eiseley, whose work focuses on a geological frame.
